Achoo, Cough, Wheeze...

All men dream: but not equally. Those who dream by night in the dusty recesses of their minds wake in the day to find that it was vanity: but the dreamers of the day are dangerous men, for they may act their dream with open eyes, to make it possible. -T. E. Lawerence (1888-1935) The Seven Pillars of Wisdom.

Wow, It's dusty in here. My apologies for my lack of discipline in blogging...and my gratitude to those of you who have continued to comment on my last post and stirred the dust a bit. Christine is redefining navel gazing, and I am thankful for it!

I have actually been writing quite a bit, though my blog would never hint to that. I have started an art study, which I may or may not plug at the end of it...the jury is still out.

I have had an irritating lump on my metaphorical artist's gum for some months. It is why I started this blog in August. At first, I was inspired and motivated and then annoyed and distracted by the swelling and irritation of the burgeoning creativity working its way to the surface.

I have been a glutton for inspiration the last few weeks, gnawing obsessively on artistic blogs and wall paper books and displays at Anthropologie and art galleries and rusted metal and walks through mid century neighborhoods...anything I can get my chops on, in an attempt to cut through the surface and find the relief that is sure to follow.

I am happy to report that I feel like I'm making progress, though I'm certain the fever and irritation will persist as I chew, relentlessly, on.

If you are looking for inspiration, I humbly suggest the writers in my daily reads section to the left. There are so many amazing artists out there. People who have found their muse and are leaving their mark.

To name a few.

I'll share more artists in the future.

Here's to inspiration that motivates and moves us...and to the novocaine of creativity.
